Gather your ingredients. Start heating your oil to 375 degrees.
In a plastic bag, combine the shrimp and buttermilk. Let soak for a few minutes.
Drain the buttermilk and add the cornstarch. Toss until the shrimp are well coated. It may be easier to do this on a cookie sheet. I found my shrimp stuck together a bit more than I would've liked in the bag. 😉
Fry your shrimp until browned (about 4 minutes total). I used a couple inches of oil here, so I didn't need to flip them.
Remove your shrimp and drain the excess oil.
In a bowl, add the shrimp and sauce.
Toss (gently) until well coated.
