Ingredients
- 1 lb Shrimp Peeled, Deveined, Tails off.
- 1/2 cup Bang Bang Sauce See notes
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 3/4 cup Cornstarch
- 1 ea Oil For Frying
- 1 ea Chives To Garnish
- 1 ea Sesame Seeds To Garnish
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients. Start heating your oil to 375 degrees.
- In a plastic bag, combine the shrimp and buttermilk. Let soak for a few minutes.
- Drain the buttermilk and add the cornstarch. Toss until the shrimp are well coated. It may be easier to do this on a cookie sheet. I found my shrimp stuck together a bit more than I would've liked in the bag. 😉
- Fry your shrimp until browned (about 4 minutes total). I used a couple inches of oil here, so I didn't need to flip them.
- Remove your shrimp and drain the excess oil.
- In a bowl, add the shrimp and sauce.
- Toss (gently) until well coated.
- Serve & Enjoy!
Notes
- Here is my recipe for Bang Bang Sauce.
- This is a dish that tastes best when it is hot and it does not reheat well. Enjoy it while it’s fresh and hot!
- While often served alone as an appetizer, these shrimp are amazing in a wrap as well.
