Ingredients
- 1 package Bacon Steaks You could use regular bacon too. Note cook time would be much shorter if you did.
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Maple Syrup Don't use the fake stuff
Instructions
- Gather those ingredients. Set the oven for 400 degrees.
- Add the sugar, bourbon, and maple syrup in a pot and apply low heat. Stir occasionally. Reduce a bit, potentially as much as getting it to be paste like.
- While the glaze is heating up, line a pan with foil and place wired trays on it. Spray the trays with non-stick.
- Apply a thick layer of the the glaze to all sides of the bacon. Save the remaining glaze.
- Bake the bacon. Turn and re-glaze it every 10 minutes or so. Keep an eye on it to ensure the bacon and glaze don't burn.
- Remove when the bacon is cooked and glaze is firmly candied to the meat. Enjoy!
Notes
- With the extra thick bacon “steaks” I used here, I ended up cooking it for over an hour. If you use regular thick bacon, it will be closer to 30 minutes.
- You can’t possibly go wrong with a recipe that involves bacon and bourbon. 😉
