  • 1 lb Ground Turkey Meat Use a bit more if you like larger burgers
  • 8 ea Large Romaine Stalk Leaves
  • 1/2 cup Farmer Cheese Freshly Shredded. Or use your own.
  • 2 tbs Butter Unsalted – Optional
  • 1 ea Jalapeno Chopped
  • 2 tbs Onion Chopped
  • 1 ea Garlic Clove Minced
  • 1 ea Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Seasoning I used seasoned salt here
  • 1 tsp Parsley Fresh or Dried
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire Sauce Sub soy sauce if you like

  • Gather your ingredients.
  • If you're going to use butter (I recommend you do), cut it into 4 small pieces. Place in freezer to harden.
  • Combine all ingredients (except cheese & butter) in a large bowl.
  • Mix until well blended. Note that it will be slimy and wet. Don't worry, Turkey quickly dries and firms up when cooking.
  • Form 4 patties. Place your butter in the center of each.
  • Cover the butter so that it is truly centered in the patty.
  • Get your griddle (or pan) up to medium heat. Use a little oil on the surface to prevent sticking.
  • Cook for 5-6 minutes or until ready to flip. Flip!
  • Add the cheese.
  • Cover to help ensure the cheese melts. When your patties reach internal temp of at least 165 degrees, they are done!
  • Place on lettuce, garnish as you like. I used some burger sauce (see notes) and fresh green pepper here.
  • Cover with a second lettuce leaf. Serve and enjoy!

  • Without any condiments included, this recipe has only 360 calories per burger!
  • I like using Farmer Cheese for this.  It’s a healthy(er) cheese and still packs great flavor and melt-ability.
  • I used my Burger & Dipping Sauce for a condiment.  Be warned that does up the calories a bit.  😉
